"The way you move affects the way you think about movement." Jonathan Burrows

THE|PAI|RDA|NCE|GAM|E translates the choreographic process into a game. Participants decide as a pair or group the beats/measure, location and boundary of their dance and then take turns choreographing movements for each measure. The project stresses spontaneous decision-making, an awareness of spatial relationships, location and a pleasure in the shared effort of goalless making. The project was inspired by an exercise in Jonathan Burrows' workshop Writing Dance at Movement Research (2011).
